Those who lived in Sea Point during lockdown had the pleasure of being entertained by the beautiful voice of Danielle Bitton. While many have heard of her as “The Sea Point balcony singer”, few know the story that led her here.
International singer, Danielle Bitton is a whole lot of talent in one package. A singer, actress, musical theatre leading lady and DJ.
She has been blessed to make a career for herself travelling the world and singing professionally for the last 20 years. Classically trained by the best in both South Africa and New York. She is extremely versatile in her vocal abilities which span the genres of Jazz, Pop, Dance, Latin, Classical, Musical Theatre and Rock. Danielle sings in multiple languages including; Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Hebrew and Arabic.
In 2017 a life long dream of Danielle’s came true to play EVITA in the hit musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. She joined the cast as the lead alternate, singing “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” to packed houses at Artscape Theatre in Cape Town, Monte Casino in Johannesburg and went on the international tour to Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
EVITA went on a second 10 city tour across China in 2019 to Shanghai, Wuhan, Shijiazhuang, Xi'an, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
Danielle was asked to Perform as a Guest Entertainer in 2019 on the prestigious Princess Cruise Lines, entertaining audiences with a Variety of songs spanning different genres and languages catering to an international audience.
Ms Bitton was cast as the lead role of "Isabella" in the new proudly South African original musical "Calling Us Home" (produced by Shy Music) at Artscape in Cape Town in 2018. The show received wonderful reviews on www.broadwayworld.com and an international tour is in the pipeline for 2022.
Before her musical theatre breakout roles, in 2015 Danielle was asked to perform on Norwegian Cruise lines. She headlined as a Guest Entertainer performing her one-woman variety and Broadway show (which she wrote and directed) in Europe, the Caribbean and the USA. Danielle was invited to perform as a Guest Entertainer on Princess Cruise lines in 2018.
Ms Bitton was a finalist on the Israeli X-Factor. While residing in Israel she became one of the lead vocalists for Israel's top band "Vision" and performed at the most extravagant functions in the heart of the desert, all over Israel and travelled to Moscow, Kiev and Greece. Ms Bitton collaborated with electronic producer “Symbolico” and other talented musicians to form an electro-swing act called “Segment”.
Before living in Israel Danielle lived in the USA for 7 years.
After winning a recording contract for one of her original songs at "The New York International Music Festival" in Las Vegas, Danielle decided to follow her dreams and moved to LA and NYC at the ripe age of 21. After much perseverance, commitment and hard work, her dynamic stage presence and professionalism earned Danielle the recognition and resultant performance contracts with some of the best in the entertainment industry. Los Angeles elite company Wayne Foster Entertainment group and recurring performance gigs up and down the North East Corridor of the USA, working for New York's Top award-winning " Hank Lane Music & Entertainment company, Marianne Bennett Orchestra's, Element Music and Dannis Winston's Collective and the famous drummer from Skid Row, Rob Affuso's band, Soul System Orchestras.
Danielle's work experience also includes lead vocalist, back-up vocalist and supporting act for known celebrity stars.
Ms Bitton has collaborated and shared the stage with renowned musicians and fellow artists from all around the world. These include John Mayer, Buena Vista Social Club, Will I AM, Alabina, and Joan Osborne and The Gypsy Kings.
Performing at New York's hottest venues such as The Waldorf Astoria, Cipriani's on Wall St, The Plaza Hotel, Rockefeller Centre and Lincoln Centre to name a few.
Danielle's love for dance music has taken her to Miami, Mykonos and Ibiza. Inspired by global festivals and the electronic music scene, Danielle added DJ-ing to her skillset in 2017 and is as passionate behind the decks as she is on stage. Her energy and love for life and music are undeniably contagious.
